IN PREPARATION · GHANA

From immediate relief.
To lasting change.

CKN Ghana Pilot Programme: bringing our four areas of work together to support lasting personal and community transformation.

OUR FIRST GHANA PILOT

Compassion begins
with the person.

Charis Kingdom Network is preparing its first pilot programme in Ghana. It will begin with street outreach to people experiencing homelessness, poverty and other forms of vulnerability, providing food, clothing and personal-hygiene items as an expression of compassion and dignity.

Through respectful conversations and voluntary engagement, the team will seek to understand each person’s circumstances, aspirations and challenges. Following assessment and team review, selected participants may be invited into Charis Pathways for longer-term support.

This programme is in preparation. The activities and outcomes described here are planned ambitions.

FOUR ARMS · ONE PROGRAMME

Support that
works together.

Practical compassion, opportunity, positive choices and spiritual support each have a part to play.

Charis Community

Meeting immediate needs

Food, clothing and hygiene products will meet immediate needs while creating space to listen. The purpose is to build relationships grounded in dignity and respect.

Charis Pathways

Creating routes to independence

For people who are willing and suitable for longer-term support, CKN will explore skills, apprenticeships, employment and livelihood opportunities, with mentoring and practical assistance where possible.

Charis Advocacy

Prevention and positive choices

Conversations, mentoring, awareness activities and appropriate referrals will address risks such as exploitation, substance misuse, violence and unemployment, helping people recognise what they can become.

Charis Missions

Hope, faith and spiritual support

Where welcomed, participants will have opportunities for prayer, Christian encouragement, discipleship and connection with supportive Christian communities.

Support is open regardless of religious participation. Christian activities will always be voluntary. Practical assistance and access to CKN programmes will not depend on religious participation or conversion.

PRACTICAL PATHWAYS

Skills that connect
to opportunity.

Depending on each person’s interests, abilities and local opportunities, potential routes may include tailoring, masonry, carpentry, welding, vulcanising and tyre services, automotive work, catering and other vocational trades.

Where possible, CKN will work with existing artisans, vocational training providers, employers and organisations rather than establish its own training centre. Participants may receive mentoring and practical assistance towards employment or self-employment.

THE TRANSFORMATION JOURNEY

A step at a time.
A future in view.

The pilot’s intended pathway connects immediate support with longer-term direction and opportunity.

SMALL BEGINNINGS · RESPONSIBLE GROWTH

Learn first.
Grow with care.

The pilot will intentionally remain small so that CKN can learn, evaluate and improve before expanding. The team will listen to individual circumstances, identify realistic opportunities and provide mentoring and ongoing support.

Partnerships with local artisans, churches, businesses, training providers and community organisations will help shape practical pathways. Progress will be tracked over time, and lessons from the pilot will inform future programmes.

MEASURING MEANINGFUL CHANGE

Beyond what
we distribute.

Success will mean more than counting meals, clothing or hygiene packs. CKN will monitor progress in:

The evidence will help CKN understand what works, what needs improvement and how the programme can responsibly grow.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLE

Relief where necessary.
Pathways wherever possible.

Compassion can meet an immediate need. Opportunity, mentoring, faith and sustained support can help create a pathway towards a more stable future.

FAITH INTO ACTION

A shared purpose.
A practical contribution.
